Hello, my name is Katie Shannon, and I am honored to be the Sedalia Chamber of Commerce President!A community is only as strong as the people within, I feel that giving back to your community plays a substantial role in your area’s success.
Currently I serve on the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre’s Board of Directors, I tend to the Special Event’s Committee. We plan all of the “Non-Season” events; Such as the Young Theatre Productions, Concerts, Trips we take with our patrons, and theAnnual Murder Mystery Weekend. There is never a dull moment, on this committee.
I am still very active with my alma mater Missouri Valley College, here in Marshall, Missouri. Serving first on the Alumni Advisory Board, were we plan events for the students and really emphasis Valley pride across campus. It is always such a pleasure to interact with the students, and hear their journeys throughout their college careers. Thus, I have also recently joined the MVC Board of Trustee’s, and I look forward to the many upcoming experiences.
Over the last 5 years, I have become acquainted with many of the rural Chamber of Commerce in Central Missouri. Currently I am a member of Higginsville, Concordia, and Marshall Chambers, and I am an Ambassador for the Boonville Chamber of Commerce. Where I help with their fundraisers, attend ribbon cuttings, interact with Surprise Squads, and encourage growth throughout the communities.
I am a Base Community Council Board Member, partnering with our sister squadron. Together we have collaborated and successfully executed events in our area and on base. Most recently we had the privilege of feeding 350 of our Airmen for a Christmas luncheon complete with Christmas cards from the children at the Boys & Girls Club.
